Valkyrie Embarks on Fourth Year with Rapid Growth & Expanded C-Suite

Updated: Feb 4

AUSTIN, TX—July 21, 2020—Valkyrie, a science-driven firm that solves organizational challenges using artificial and augmented intelligence, grew its business 50 percent year-over-year in the second quarter of 2020. The company added five new clients to its current roster and further expanded its workforce by 37 percent, appointing integral members to the C-suite and science department.

Valkyrie bolstered its staff across all operations, with several new team members joining the data science division to play a critical role in future research and engineering. Additionally, the company added two new C-suite executives, Chief Commercial Officer Toni Calderon and Chief Strategy Officer Jason Paull, who will be responsible for customer interface and strategic planning processes, respectively.

Embarking on its fourth year of business, Valkyrie empowers organizations of all sizes and industries to optimize efficiency and inform complex decisions through custom machine learning solutions. Valkyrie has worked with a wide range of organizations that span sectors from finance, healthcare, transportation, defense, and intelligence. Notably, in the second quarter, the company partnered with Global Medical Response (GMR), an emergency medical response company that provides critical transportation assistance for urgent medical situations. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Valkyrie has combined public and internal data to create a custom, rolling 10-day forecast for GMR’s crew and team members to provide informed and real-time insight on executive-level decisions.

“During this unprecedented worldwide event, with rapidly evolving data and information, GMR needed a trusted, agile and connected partner to keep our entire organization informed and prepared to develop appropriate preparation and response strategies for the communities we serve,” said GMR CEO Randy Owen. “Valkyrie’s unique capabilities and custom solutions have equipped our team with advanced abilities to predictively measure critical customer needs, ensuring we can respond at a moment’s notice. These tools inform resource allocation projections for equipment and crew that display not only regions that are experiencing spikes in emergency calls, but also demographics and populations at risk.”

On the heels of Valkyrie’s successful entry into racing in 2019, Valkyrie bolstered its longstanding ties with the professional auto racing community, partnering with Road to Indy’s DEForce Racing to become the team’s official technology partner for the 2020 season. From the first car in 2019 to now seven in 2020, the Valkyrie wings can be found in the US F4 Championship, the Nacam Mexican F4 Championship, and in USF 2000 and Indy Pro 2000, both of which are part of the Road to Indy Program. Through Valkyrie Velocity, Valkyrie’s motorsports arm, the company will be examining DEForce’s diagnostic race data to enhance driver insight and improve racecar performance.

“Our team is relentless in our advancement of science and our passion to improve mankind through technology. Our next tact will be to derive new products and service offerings from our groundbreaking research,” said Valkyrie founder and CEO Charlie Burgoyne. “While 2020 has been challenging for all, I’m inspired by the many initiatives that aim to improve civilization across the globe, many begotten from our field of science, and altruistically improving the human condition.”
